Best fuel economy fix ever?

Don't drive as much!  Duh, this is a no brainer but not real functional in the real world.  But seriously combining your trips so you only leave the house once to accomplish several errands.  Another often overlooked source of poor fuel economy is excessive idling.  Do you realize while you are idling you are getting exactly zero miles to the gallon?  While you wait in the Taco Bell drive through for 4 minutes you are using fuel and getting nothing out of it.  If we all turned our rigs off while sitting and waiting for our food or whatever the overall savings would be in the millions per year.  And you wouldn't have to taste the exhaust of the car in front of you either.  I am sure the drive though food servers would appreciate it as well.  And one more thing, can't we all slow down a little?  Sure I am guilty of being hurried and rushed from time to time, but I think we can all learn a little and save a lot by watching the Kingsford charcoal commercial (the one that says slow down and grille while all the cars are parked on the freeway) and apply it in our lives.  Just my 2 cents.  What do you think?

Everything said here is so true! Wile in a convoy in Iraq we had a truck breakdown. wile every other gun truck sat there with they're truck running for the air conditioning, mine was not working so we shut our truck off. eight hours later we finally started moving. five miles down the road everyone else started running out of fuel. they all had to stop, get out, offload fuel from the Wrecker into jerry cans and then fuel up. so again we shut off our truck, and wile we waited fo them to fill up I asked my driver how much fuel we had left, he said "Three Quarters Sergent!". all I could do was chuckel. Now our trucks shut thier engines of duing long halts on the road only starting for a moment to cool off the cab.
